About Me

Hi! My name is Melissa, and I am a Child of God, in my late twenties, married to an amazing husband, Geoffrey, living in Chattanooga with our two year old German Shepherd, Addie. This blog got its name from my childhood nickname, MelissaPie.

I grew up in an amazing family in the great state of Tennessee. We are a tight-knit family (my Dad, Mom, Mary, Laura, and me) and I have always been super-close with my cousins, grandparents, aunts and uncles, as well. Growing up, I was surrounded by my family (literally, surrounded, as in they lived next door on all sides of our house).  My best memories growing up were going to work with my dad every day, playing with my cousins in our barn lot, and going on vacation to Tavares, Florida. It was a simple life!

Geoffrey and I met at the University of Tennessee, and we dated for about five years before getting married a few years after college, about three years ago now. I can say that we really enjoy being with each other and our life together, even though it can be stressful and hard at times.

I don't clearly recall a time in my life when I wasn't a Christian. Needless to say, I never saw a drastic change in my life from being 'converted,' but I have definitely grown in my faith since beginning my journey with Christ.  I desire to never stop being changed and molded into the woman God wants me to be, no matter what that takes. I certainly am no expert on being a follower of Christ, but I am trying to learn how Jesus wants my life to look. I'm resting in the fact that He called me, He loves me, and He chose me to be His child and I want to glorify Him in all I do. (But for me, that's easier said than done). I am just living this life here expecting and longing for Jesus Christ, and His matchless and unbroken companionship. He is what is getting me through this life here on earth.

I love blogging and sharing with you what's on my mind, whether it be my most embarrassing moments or what I'm learning in my walk with Christ.

I'll try to be honest. I'll try to be creative. I'll try to be entertaining. I'll try to be Christ-centered. I'll try to be real. But really, I'll just be me.
